New research from digital marketing specialists, Insynth Marketing, has found most building product websites to be wanting when it comes to a wide range of issues, from security right through to content.

Three-hundred websites were chosen for a study which assessed the effectiveness of digital marketing amongst building product manufacturers in the UK. The report highlights serious failings in website design and information quality, especially when it comes to helping specifiers.
In today’s risk averse climate, specifiers need to know everything about solutions to ensure they comply with building regulations and are fit for purpose.
Key technical resources such as CAD files and specification clauses were missing from 83% of building product websites.
Websites were assessed objectively on a 50-point scorecard; the report found that 85% of building product companies scored overall 40% or less. This presents marketers with quick-wins and growth opportunities for their business, for example:
