It is a community-driven service for small- and medium-sized businesses looking for help and support in exporting from the UK, and provides information and advice on exporting products and services, in the form of articles, events and opportunities. Registration and participation is free.
Institute of Export & International Trade
The IoE was established to enhance the export performance of the UK by setting and raising professional standards in international trade management and export practice. The activities of the Institute fall in to three main areas:
- Education and training
- Specialised business information and events
- Membership representation
The Institute currently has a membership of 2750 who enjoy a range of benefits, including an entitlement to use designatory letters to enable recognition of an individual member’s professional standing. Members receive a range of benefits, plus year-long access to an exclusive technical help-line for detailed assistance and a regular newsletter. The Institute also represents the collective interests of its members to the Government and media and disseminates information to members on key export issues and opportunities. Typical individual membership costs between £75 and £150 per annum, depending on membership grade.
This is a website from the company, UK Exporters Ltd, which publishes (online and on CD-Rom) a database of British products and services for export markets. Basic entries for British companies are free.
The Economist Intelligence Unit
The EIU provides individual country reports offering in-depth economic, political and business analysis and short-term market outlooks.
World Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Chamber of Commerce & Industry manages the World Chambers Network, an internet-based directory providing contact details of the chambers of commerce in world markets. Local Chambers can be very useful sources of potential business partners, distributors and agents.

Incoterms®Rules – International Chamber of Commerce
Incoterms (International Commercial Terms) Rules are standard trade definitions most commonly used in international sales contracts. Devised and published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), they are at the heart of world trade. Among the best known Incoterms are EXW (Ex Works), FOB (Free on Board), CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight), DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), and CPT (Carriage Paid To). The ICC publishes a directory of the latest edition of these rules - Incoterms 2020.
The ICC also has a digital library of Incoterms and Commercial Contracts publications.
